Do shimmer gels need a special base?
No. Prep as usual, brush on a base coat, then apply the shimmer in thin coats and cure each one. Shimmer shows every bump, so keep the surface smooth.
Which shimmer is the most subtle?
Pearl Gel is the softest. Its pearlescent finish is sheer to build, so you control how strong the glow looks.
