How to Do Marble Nails with Marble Effect Gel in 6 Steps

Marble Effect gel veins on its own, so a stone look does not need steady freehand. Here is the order.

1. 1

   Prep and base

   File, buff and wipe the nail clean. Dehydrate with pH Bond, then brush on a thin coat of base coat and cure.

   TipCap the free edge.

2. 2

   Cure the stone color

   Apply two thin coats of the color you want the stone to be, such as white, black or a nude, and cure each coat. Marble Effect goes on top of any cured gel or lacquer color.

   TipWhite reads like classic marble. Black reads like dark stone.

3. 3

   Drop the Marble Effect gel

   Drop a little Marble Effect gel onto the cured color. It self-veins into a soft, stone-like pattern.

   TipStart small. You can always add another drop.

4. 4

   Work the veins

   Use a fine brush to drag and swirl the gel into the pattern you want. Layer a second Marble Effect shade on top to build custom veining.

   TipWork one nail at a time so the gel stays workable.

5. 5

   Cure

   Cure under your LED lamp when the pattern looks right.

   TipCheck the whole nail first. The pattern locks in when it cures.

6. 6

   Seal and finish

   Seal with a no wipe top coat and cure. Finish with cuticle oil.

   TipA glossy top coat gives a polished stone look. A matte top coat gives a soft one.
