Blood drip · 6 steps · red art gel
Drip nails look wet and dangerous, but they are just a red band with a few pulled drops. Keep the gel thin and cure fast so the drips stay where you put them.
You will need
- Red art gel
- White, nude or black gel
- Fine detail brush
- Base coat
- Glossy no wipe top coat
- LED lamp
-
Prep and base
File, buff and wipe the nail, then dehydrate with pH Bond. Brush on a thin coat of base coat, cap the free edge, and cure.
TipRed shows every flaw. Smooth the nail before you start.
-
Pick the ground
White or nude makes the red pop. Black looks like a horror movie. Two thin coats of color, cured one at a time.
TipLet the ground cure fully so the red edge stays crisp.
-
Paint the red band
Load a fine brush with Detailing Nail Art Gel 03 Red. Brush a thin band across the free edge, or from the cuticle for a bold look. Do not cure yet.
TipA thin band drips less. A thick band slides.
-
Pull the drips
Touch the brush to the bottom edge of the red and pull a short line downward, ending in a small round bead. Vary the lengths of the drips. Cure right away.
TipUneven drips look natural. Keep one long drip and two short ones.
-
Add depth
Dab Garnet Red Glitter 44 or Red Glitter 28 on the biggest drip for a wet shine. Cure.
TipHighlights go on one side of each drip, the same side on every nail.
-
Seal and finish
Seal with Diamond No Wipe Top Coat for a glossy, wet look. Cure and finish with cuticle oil.
TipKeep top coat thin so it does not push the drips.
