1. Choose the grit for the job. A lower number is coarser and a higher number is finer.
2. File in one direction with light, even strokes instead of sawing back and forth.
3. Brush off the dust and wipe the nail before you apply product.
4. Use a disposable file for one client only, and sanitize reusable files as your local regulations require.
